William R. Slansky

 

William R. Slansky is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Land ’N’ Sea Distributing, Inc., (LNS), headquartered in Pompano Beach, Florida. Under his direction LNS grew from a regional distributor with two locations in Florida in 1990, to become the largest independent wholesale distributor of marine parts and accessories, serving more than10,000 dealers worldwide from 13 warehouses throughout North America in 2003, when the Company was acquired by the Brunswick Boat Group.

Mr. Slansky joined Land ‘N’ Sea in 1990 as the CFO. He was elected as the executive vice president and chief operating officer in 1994, and was promoted to president and CEO in 1996. Prior to joining Land ‘N’ Sea, Mr. Slansky was with several distribution companies in the Chicago area, serving in senior financial positions. He began his career in public accounting with the firm of Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Slansky has been very active for more than 15 years in his voluntary efforts to support the marine industry, serving as a Director and Officer of the Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) for many years.

He has also held positions on the Board and as president of the National Marine Distributors Association (NMDA) and served many years as a member of the International Marketing Committee of the National Marine Manufacturer’s Association (NMMA). He is currently an Advisory Board member of Marine University, a national marine industry educational initiative, designed to attract and educate boaters of all ages, in cooperation with boat dealers across the Nation.

Through these Associations he has been a participant in many significant local and National projects that are helping to set the direction of the Maine industry in Florida and throughout the country.

Mr. Slansky holds an MBA and a BBA from the University of Miami and is a licensed certified public accountant in Illinois.
